Our niche is OTM (other than municipal) class or smaller type systems. The Picture below shows an installation of a water meter under a manufactured home. Average run of water line is about 30ft. (this one is about 6') All connections are brass including 600 WOG ball valves. Heat tape is placed under R3 black foam insulation to prevent freezing. Pipe material is polyetheleneX (pex) which will not crack or split if frozen. All bend areas are insulated with double fiberglass or additional large foam. Heat tape is ran 2-3 ft down the riser, which is then filled at the top with fiberglass to create a warm dead air space to prevent freezing.
Water treatment is usually started for those that have thier own well supply. A meter may be fouled by iron, manganese, hardness, silica, and sand. ABT will sample the well for secondary standard contaminants to assess the need for treatment.
